Transformation of Sentence, Affirmative to Negative, Assertive to Interrogative, Assertive to Exclamatory

Transformation of Sentence :

To Change the formation of sentences one to another without changing its meaning 

(অর্থের পরিবর্তন না ঘটিয়ে একটি Sentence কে একরূপ থেকে অন্যরূপে রূপান্তরিত করাকে Transformation (রূপান্তর) বলে। যেমন - নিচের পরবর্তনগুলো Transformation. 

Affirmative <> Negative 

Assertive <> Interrogative 

Assertive <> Exclamatory 

Active<> Passive

Simple <>Complex 

Simple <> Compound 

Complex <> Compound 

Positive <> Comparative 

Positive <> Superlative 

Comparative <> Superlative

Affirmative To Negative 

 ✡️Only /Alone এর ব্যাবহার

 ➡️কোন ব্যাক্তি বুঝালে তার পরিবর্তে None but

 ➡️কোন বস্তু বুঝালে তার পরিবর্তে nothing but

 ➡️ কোন বয়স বা সংখ্যা নির্দেশ করলে তার পরিবর্তে not more than/ not less than বসে। 

Example : 

Aff: Allah alone can help us

Neg: None but Allah can help us.

Aff: Only Akram can solve the problem.

Neg: None but Akram can do the work.

Aff: She has only a few dolls.

Neg: She has nothing but a few dolls.

Aff: Tanni was only sixteen. 

Neg: Tanni was not more than sixteen. 

Aff: He has only 500 tk.

Neg: He has not less than 500 tk.

✡️ Must, Every  এর ব্যাবহার

➡️  Must হলে তার পরিবর্তে can not but বা 

can not help+ verb+ing

➡️ Every হলে তার পরিবর্তে There is no + every এর পরের শব্দ+ but+ বাকি অংশ 

➡️ Every হলে তার পরিবর্তে No + every এর পরের শব্দ+ Verb এর opposite word + বাকি অংশ

Example :

Aff: We must obey our parents. 

Neg: We can not help obeying our Parents. 

Aff: We must yeild to our fate.

Neg: We can not but yeild to our fate.

Aff: Everyone hates a liar.

Neg: There is no one but hates a liar.

Neg: None loves a liar.

Aff: Everybody likes flowers.

Neg: There is nobody but likes flowers. 

Neg: Nobody dislikes flowers.

✡️ both ---and বা and  দ্বারা যুক্ত দুটি word/ Phrase এর ব্যাবহার

➡️ both এর জায়গায়  Not only ---and এর জায়গায় but also

➡️ and এর পূর্বের word/phrase এর আগে  not only এবং and এর জায়গায় but also

Example : 

Aff: Both Shamima and Salma did this task.

Neg: Not only Shamima but also Salma did this task.

Aff: Ramima took Tea and Ice-cream . 

Neg: Ramima took not only Tea but also Ice-Creem.

✡️ As soon as যুক্ত complex sentence এর ব্যাবহার

➡️ As soon  as এর জায়গায় Scarcely had/hardly had এবং (,) কমা উঠিয়ে when+ বাকি অংশ। 

➡️ As soon  as এর জায়গায়  No sooner had এবং (,) কমা উঠিয়ে than+ বাকি অংশ।

Example : 

Aff: As soon as the thief saw the police, he ran away

Neg: No sooner had the thief saw the police than he ran away.

Neg: Hardly had the thief saw the police when he ran away. 

✡️  চিরন্তন অর্থবোধক affirmative sentence কে negative করতে হলে তাকে negative interrogative sentence এ রূপান্তরিত করতে হয়।

Aff: The sun sets in the west

Neg: Doesn’t the sun set in the west?

Aff: Honesty is the best policy. 

Neg: is n't honesty the best policy? 

✡️ Sometimes, many, mush, a little, by + gerund এর ব্যাবহার।

➡️ Sometimes এর জায়গায়  not + always 

➡️ Many এর জায়গায় not a few

➡️ Much এর জায়গায় not a little

➡️ a little এর জায়গায় not much

➡️ by + gerund এর জায়গায় without + verb + ing

Example :

Aff: He sometimes comes here.

Neg: He does not always  come here.

Aff: There are many students in the class.

Neg: There are not a few students in the class. 

Aff: I have a few friends 

Neg: I have not many friends 

Aff: He has much money. 

Neg: He has not a little moey.

Aff: I have a little rice. 

Neg: I have not much rice.

Aff: By Working hard he can shine in life. 

Neg: Without working hard, he can not shine in life. 

✡️ NP + with+ NP এর ব্যাবহার

➡️ With এর জায়গায় without এবং be verb এর পর not বসে।

Example : 

Aff: An employee with enthusiasm can be successfull.

Neg: An employee without enthusiasm cannot be successful. 

Aff: A life with an assignment is an actual life.

Neg: A life without an assignment is not an actual life.

Assertive To Interrogative

✡️ Be verb/ Auxiliary verbverb বা  Model verb   যুক্ত  Assertive sentence কে Interrogative করার নিয়ম।  

➡️  Sentence টি হ্যাঁবোধক হলে না Questions না বোধক 

আবার  Sentence টি  না বোধক হলে Question হ্যাঁ বোধক হবে।

➡️ Structure: Model verb / Auxiliary verb+ +not (বাক্যটি  হ্যাঁ বোধক হলে) + Subject + বাকি অংশ + শেষে প্রশ্ন বোধক চিহ্ন বসে।

Example :

Ass: He is absent from College. 

Int: Is not he absent from college?

Ass: He is not a good player.

Int: Is he a good player? 

Ass: I was sincere to perform my duties. 

Int. : Was not I sincere to perform my duties? 

Ass: We could do the task.

Int: Could not we do the task?

Ass: Karim will not go there.

Int.: Will Karim go there?

✡️ সাহায্যকারী Verb বিহীন Assertive sentence কে Interrogative করার নিয়ম।

➡️ Sentence টি হ্যাঁবোধক হলে  Questions না বোধক 

আবার  Sentence টি  না বোধক হলে Question হ্যাঁ বোধক  হবে।

➡️ Structure : Do, Does, did (verb এর form অনুসারে)  + not (বাক্যটি  হ্যাঁ বোধক হলে) + Subject + verb এর present form ( s  বা ed থাকলে উঠে যাবে)  + বাকি অংশ + শেষে প্রশ্ন বোধক চিহ্ন বসে।

Ass: He plays Cricket. 

Int.: Does not he play Cricket? 

Ass: They play football. 

Int: Don’t they play football? 

Ass: I played football. 

Int. Did not I play football? 

Ass: Kalam did not appear in the exam.

Int. : Did Kalam appear in the exam? 

✡️ Assertive Sentence -  এ never থাকলে Interrogative করার সময় ever এবং nothing থাকলে anything হয়।

Ass: I never drink coffee. 

Int: Do I ever drink coffee? 

Ass: There was nothing to do.

Int: Was there anything to do?

 ✡️ Everybody / Everyone / All কে Interrogative করার সময় এদের পরিবর্তে Who + tense ও person অনুসারে Do not/ does not/ did not/+ verb এর present form+ বাকি অংশ + শেষে প্রশ্ন বোধক চিহ্ন বসে।

Ass: Everybody wishes to be happy. 

Int: Who does not wish to be happy? 

Ass: All loves mother.

Int: Who does not love mother? 

 ✡️ / Nobody,  None, no oneকে Interrogative করার সময় এদের পরিবর্তে Who + বাকি অংশ + শেষে প্রশ্ন বোধক চিহ্ন বসে।

Ass: No one can do this.

Int: who can do this.

Assertive to Exclamatory 

✡️  Assertive Sentence কে Exclamatory Sentence  এর রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম। 

প্রথমে  ( very/ great) এর পরিবর্তে what/How. + a/an বসে কিন্তু How এর পরে বসে না না।) + Adjective + noun যদি থাকে + Subject + am/is /are/was/ were/+(!) বিস্ময় সূচক চিহ্ন বসে।

Example :

Ass: Cricket is very exciting game. 

Exc: What an exciting game Cricket is!

Ass: Farhana's life very difficult. 

Excl: How difficult Farhana's life was!

✡️ Infinitive to + verb এর base form দ্বারা কোন বাক্যাংশ যুক্ত হলে তা Be verb এর পর বসাতে হবে।

Example : 

Ass: Social awareness is very essential to resist dowry.  

Exclamatory : How essential social awareness is to resist dowry! 

Ass: I  was very glad to see you.

Excl:  How glad I was to see you! 

✡️ Wish থাকলে Exclamatory এর  নিয়ম- 

➡️ Wish এর পরিবর্তে If/had বসে + wish এর পরের অংশ + শেষে (!) বিস্ময় সূচক চিহ্ন। 

Ass: I wish I could visit this place. 

Excl: If I could visit this place! 

Ass: I wish I were  a Millionaire 

Excl: If I were a Millionaire!
